And so it begins. It shall be done. A place, a space, to spill my bile and add to the poison seeping from the drooling gobs of we, the bitter half of this nation, who dare to suckle the milk and honey of the swollen imperialist tit, yet question and protest our motherland's drunken madness. Am I ungrateful for the fortune of my birth? Certainly not. But my good fortune only makes me want to share the wealth, not make a joke of the niggers of the world at the same time our boys are blasting them as if they are simply little brown baddies in a video-game. I don't expect anyone will bother to read my left-liberal-looney blog, it is mainly a selfish waste of time anyhow. But imagining a reader, I premise this whole endeavor on the notion that the greatest patriotism is expressed in the effort to improve; this is human nature. And I wish to improve my nation. Some patriots suit up in their nation's uniform and follow orders, trusting their leaders that they are killing and dying for our sake. Other patriots wear God's uniform, and work or march in the streets, demanding the well-being of humans whose governments are supposed to look after their well-being, yet often fail. Both sorts have proven willing to kill or at least die for their beliefs.

In autumn 2001 (don't make me say the date) our safe, happy bubble got popped, and we fully joined the cycle of violence that until a few years ago we had succeeded in keeping export-only. My compatriots went out there festooning everything with flags and putting their faith in the power of our big guns to protect us. But you can't solve a problem with the same kind of thinking that created it. The American people need to know the truth, not live in a state of denial. A government by the people and for the people requires an informed people, not a fearful, boastful, infotained mass market. Truth is not a good to be hawked and consumed (a diet of sentimental and sensational pulp sells much better), but a bitter medicine one endures to evict the pox of ignorance. No one should wish for a resurrection of the all-sacrificing, unquestioning, racist nationalism that drove this nation through WWII. We've been there, and it is time to evolve. To improve. And if an inane cow such as Limbaugh has the hubris to claim the truth, let me make the same claim here. The truth, nothing less.

I am more patriotic than your daddy, and your granddaddy, exactly because I demand that democracy be given back to the people and that through this revolution our government should act with honor and integrity at home and abroad. No more dirty deals with dictators and proxy wars with hired terrorists. No more sending our troops to spill blood to fulfill the arrogant chess-board fantasies (and line the pockets) of stupid white men. No more bullshit wrapped in my flag, soaked in blood and shoved down my throat with my tax dollars. No more.
